UCI anesthesia

 UCI is offering a one-of-a-kind program called "Preparing for Surgery - Mind, Body and Spirit."  The purpose of this program is to teach techniques that improve patient outcome, reduce post-operative pain and hopefully reduce the amount of medication needed by the patients after surgery.  Research has shown that the methods taught in this program cause patients to have improved outcomes as opposed to those who did not implement what was learned in the program.  The results from this program could potentially be used in researching how stress and anxiety are related to pain.
